Our Story
NetToolReviewLab was established in Toronto in 2018 by a group of senior network engineers who were frustrated with the lack of honest, methodical coverage of the network diagnostic software market. Most available reviews were either written by vendors themselves, buried in technical forums with no structure, or paid for by affiliate programmes.
We set out to build something different: a lab-based review publication where every tool is evaluated against the same 30-point framework, regardless of brand or price point. Today, our team covers over 140 tools across twelve categories — from open-source CLI utilities to enterprise-grade network management platforms.
We are based at 100 King St W, Toronto, ON M5X 1A9, Canada, and serve an audience of IT professionals across North America, Europe, and Australia.
Our Core Values
Independence
We accept no vendor sponsorships, free product licences, or performance-based affiliate payments in exchange for favourable scores.
Reproducibility
Every test is performed on documented hardware using standardised lab topologies so results can be verified and repeated.
Transparency
We publish our evaluation rubric openly so readers can understand exactly how each score is calculated.
Meet the Lab Team
Our reviewers all hold active roles in IT operations or network engineering, ensuring reviews are grounded in real-world experience.
